What Is an Article?
|
|
All information in your myKB knowledge base software is stored in Articles. Articles are knowledge templates that store data related to a specific topic. This topic is identified as the article's Title.
Articles help to organize your information into easily updated, organized, and searchable topic areas.
Articles are stored within knowledge base Categories. These categories group similar articles (topics) to facilitate user location of the information they contain.
To explain how the knowledge base is organized, let's compare your knowledge base to a library. Your library (knowledge base) may contain several books. Each of these books can be likened to a Category. Within each book may be several chapters (sub-categories), and each chapter can cover one or more topic areas (articles).
The knowledge base software provides a mechanism to easily search your "library". You can either flip through the chapters by clicking through the knowledge base categories, or you can simply search for keywords may appear in any of your library's articles.
