Note: Categories cannot be deleted if they contain any sub-categories or any articles. This security feature prevents the accidental deletion of categories that contain active information

To access the Category Maintenance screen, click on the Maintenance menu then select Categories.

This will display the list of available categories.

The system will then prompt you to confirm that you wish to permanently delete the category.

Clicking Cancel will cancel the deletion request.

Clicking OK will perform all error checks required to remove the category from your knowledge base. If any issues are encountered, the appropriate error messages will display at the top of the screen. Make the appropriate corrections, then click OK to try again. After a category has been successfully deleted, a Success message will appear, and the category will no longer display in the Guided Search panel.
